WhatsApp has been testing an advanced search feature in the beta version of its messenger for some time now. This search function can now be used by more beta testers.
Functionally, WhatsApp is known to be a bit slower, the other day there was a feature bump that made it possible to quickly research frequently forwarded messages, things like simple use on several devices apart from WhatsApp Web or even a dedicated iPad App still missing. What is now slowly becoming applicable to users of the WhatsApp beta version is the benefit of an advanced search.

What is the advanced search mode?
It is a function that allows you to search for a specific type of message (photos, GIFs, links, videos, etc.). It can be found in the global search function and is intended to help users find what they are looking for. If you use WhatsApp in the beta, then check it out yourself if necessary.
At first, I was only able to verify the whole thing for the iOS version (it doesn’t matter whether it is final or beta, the function already exists), but it should now also be available in WhatsApp’s Android beta. If you click on the search filter, results are displayed that can still be filtered, for example, Videos FROM (username). So: click on search, make a preselection for the desired file type – then a monthly overview appears. If you enter the contact name, all content will come

Advanced search function
WhatsApp has been testing an advanced search function for a number of months. This feature lets you search for specific things, which comes in handy if you have a huge archive of messages in WhatsApp.
The advanced search function makes it easier to find different types of files. You can perform a search on the text in messages but also search for photos, audio, links, GIFs, video, and documents.

Availability
WhatsApp is enabling the feature from the server-side for a few beta testers who have version 2.20.197.7+ installed. A very small group will then see the search function. WhatsApp does this to see which causes the use of the new search function, such as crashes or errors.
In this situation, it is better to enable the feature for a few users rather than for everyone. If the problems no longer occur, WhatsApp can make the advanced search function available to a larger group.
